About Me

I have always believed in nurturing the inner child and protecting a sense of wonder. I am drawn to fairy tales, tea parties, velvet textures, red lipstick like my grandmother wore, angel wings, feathers, butterflies, birds, forest creatures, sparkling treasures, and moonlit imagination. I find beauty in both elegance and playfulness ~ in sundaes and french fries, in glittering skies, in the quiet magic hidden within ordinary moments.

The sun feels like an old friend, warm and affirming, while the moon has always felt like a patient listener to my creative thoughts.

Color is deeply emotional to me. I love working with rich pigments and luminous layers, especially watercolor, my medium of choice for its delicate and unpredictable translucency. I also enjoy incorporating acrylics for larger works. I am equally inspired by the beauty of metals and stones ~ weathered copper, glowing silver, raw mineral textures, flashes of opal fire, mossy greens, deep ocean blues, and the way gemstones seem to carry tiny worlds within them. Nature continually inspires me: the shifting shapes of clouds and trees, mountain silhouettes, stars scattered across dark skies, and the ever-changing moods of the moon. I am endlessly drawn to sparkle, texture, color, and the quiet magic woven throughout the natural world.

At the heart of my work is a desire to create connection ~

art and adornment that remind people they are held by something larger than themselves. My paintings and jewelry honor tenderness, memory, beauty, transformation, and hope. I want both the viewer and the wearer to feel comforted, seen, empowered, and gently re-enchanted with the world around them. Many of my pieces are created as small talismans ~ intimate reminders of resilience, wonder, softness, and the quiet magic woven through everyday life.

I spent my early childhood in Yokohama, Japan before moving to Idyllwild, a small mountain town in Southern California, when I was eleven years old. Both places profoundly shaped my artistic voice. Japanese aesthetics nurtured my appreciation for intentional beauty, subtle detail, and impermanence, while Idyllwild rooted me in nature, community, and imagination. I climbed trees and granite boulders, swam in hidden grottos with friends, and grew up surrounded by the quiet magic of the forest.

At twenty-two, I moved to San Francisco to attend art school, where I deepened both my technical skills and my understanding of humanity, resilience, and creative expression. Those years taught me about light and shadow in every sense.

Today, I live once again in Idyllwild with my husband, Sterling, our beloved dogs Bliss and Echo, and our cat Violet. Alongside my paintings, I create one-of-a-kind jewelry inspired by nature, storytelling, symbolism, and connection. I also create pet portraits in honor of the deep bonds we share with animals, inspired especially by our beloved Zyla and Gemma.

A selection of my original artwork and jewelry can be viewed in person at Middle Ridge Winery Tasting Gallery in Idyllwild, California.
