About Me

I love indulging my inner child. I enjoy fairy tales, dressing up, tea parties, red lipstick, like the kind my grandmother would wear, lush velvet, forest creatures, kittens, puppies, butterflies, birds, sundaes, french fries, angel wings, feathers, sledding, and most things that sparkle. The sun is a warm and welcomed friend that makes me feel seen and whole, and the moon is always listening to my creative notions.

I enjoy working with bright colors and pure pigments. Watercolor is my medium of choice with its beautiful and finicky translucent quality, but I also enjoy using bright acrylics for larger pieces. I am inspired by nature, the big sky, shapes of trees, clouds, stars, and mountains. The moon shifts with my moods and has a huge influence on my work.

My art has an emphasis on connection and feeling held by the universe.

It honors love, which I hope translates to the viewer, and it offers hope for the world we live in.

I grew up in Yokohama, Japan until we moved to Idyllwild, a small mountain town in Southern California, when I was eleven. Both of these wonderful places developed my artistic sensibilities. Japanese aesthetics inspired my love of intentional, ever-changing beauty. Idyllwild gave me a deep bond with the rejuvenating power of nature and an appreciation for community. I climbed trees and rocks and went swimming in the grotto with friends. I have witnessed and shared a space with many magical forest creatures. When I was twenty-two, I moved to San Francisco to refine my skills at art school. I learned many life-changing lessons, many shades of light and dark, in my art and in humanity. I now live in Idyllwild with my husband, Sterling, and have two adorable puppies, Bliss and Echo and a recent addition Kitty Violet. I also create pet portraits in honor of our Zyla and Gemma kitties. You can view some of my work, along with my one-of-a-kind origami and beaded jewelry, in person at Middle Ridge Winery, tasting room and art gallery in Idyllwild, California.
